NAbio's new protein spread “White Bean Rucola Mustard” took first place in the category "Processed Organic Product" at this year's Thuringian Bio Award. The prize was awarded by the Thuringia Ministry of Agriculture. The jury was convinced not only by the creamy fine taste, but also by the nutritional advantages of this spread. Based on legumes, it naturally contains such a high protein content that it can officially be labelled as a "protein source". In addition, the protein spread has 50 % less fat than classic bread spreads based on sunflower seeds.

Over 100 applications were submitted this year. "This shows me that the organic prize meets with a great resonance and that the Thuringian organic sector is confidently promoting its innovative products," explains Birgit Keller, Thuringia's Minister of Agriculture. Three prizewinners were chosen in each of three categories. The jury consisted of representatives from the consumer advisory service, the organic sector, science and the Thuringian Farmers' Association.

We see the award as an additional acknowledgement of our recently launched protein spreads.Another variety – peas basil – was recently awarded the title "highly recommended" in the "Innovation" category at the Free From Food Awards.

The protein spreads are available at Alnatura, BioCompany, in independent organic specialist shops and in various online shops.
